While I am always dismayed at the rise of a Cult of Personality, either left or right, I cringed at the paintings of Jesus's hand on Trump as he signed a document/bill/whatever. And there certainly was that tie in of religious belief and governing, which never ends well. But I think it needs to be noted there was a huge pragmatic piece in the religious right's support of Trump. They realized from previous elections that waiting for perfect and staying home if they don't get it in a candidate merely cedes the field to their political rivals. As always people vote for two things, for a candidate and against the other guy.
