I've weathered a few stock market storms. This is what works for me. While I play puts/calls for fun, its really a whole segement of the market on to itself very smart people get taken to the cleaners in options. Those on the street will know long before you know a market correction is coming, so reacting doesn't work, you need to have an investing philosophy in place and that philosophy will see you through the downturns.
