I was a Director of Quality Assurance for an Aerospace company. Shipping parts out of a Material Review area before proper material review is a crime. Access to the area must be tightly controlled and with detailed logs of material in and out. If this is true, this is not only a failure of management but a failure of oversight, including third party quality audits, such as AS9100. If this is true it represents a serial failure of multiple processes designed to prevent quality escapes and is movie worthy.
