I never saw SWOT as producing blinding insights. But rather, an opportunity for the group to reflect on things we might be over looking. I always considered the "T" to be the most important letter in SWOT. SWOTs are always done last. To your point SWOT has always seemed detacted. I can't remember ever acting on an SWO, only on a T. Actually I'm surprised SWOT is a strategy tool, never considered it as such untill your article. Took me a few readings to wrap my head around that. So, yeah, I agree with you.
